Welcome

Hi! Would you like to rent our home?

Our home is in beautiful Nevada County, 3000’ up in the forested Sierra foothills of California’s gold country, located halfway between downtown Nevada City and Grass Valley.

Now that our kid is off to in-person school, we are no longer going to have opportunities to use our home as often as we’d like, so we have decided to start renting it on occasion.

Because we are only interested in renting to friends, friends of friends, we’re priced very reasonably & won’t charge extra for weekends or extra people.

Home comfortably suited for up to 6 people. 7-8 people will be considered if those extra 1-2 people are little ones.

The main house has two bedrooms (1 King & 1 Queen) and two full baths. There is an attached suite with another very large bedroom (King size bed) and full bath, although the room has its own separate (and lockable entrance) off the shared deck.

The main home has both a gas fireplace and wood burning fireplace.

  • Central Heat and Air.

  • Hot Tub deck attached to King room en suite for two people (or three close friends!) or two grown-ups and a little.

  • Beautiful fenced-in 1-acre yard filled with mature trees. Outdoor area for lounging as well as swing and hammock!

  • 120-inch screen with 4K projector and surround sound - your very own movie theater!!

  • Washer/Dryer/Dishwasher.

  • New mattresses, all cotton/linen bedding and duvets. We have an inflatable twin mattress and a pack n play for those with kiddos.

  • Plenty of firewood and kindling available.

  • Full kitchen with plenty of utensils, pots and pans, appliances, spices, condiments.

  • Pets considered, just ask!

Grass Valley is a gold rush era town with charming old buildings, cafes, restaurants and multiple venues including an art deco movie theater, the Del Oro. The Grass Valley Center for the Arts has arts, performance and live music all year.

Nevada City is another picturesque and arts-filled town dating from the gold rush.

Both Grass Valley and Nevada City have multiple festivals and special events throughout the year.

Empire Mine: A former working gold mine that’s now a State Park - tons to explore!

Malakoff Diggins: A ghost town from the gold rush days with a small museum and hikes through the old mine workings.

South Yuba River: Gorgeous river with multiple spots for hiking and swimming, especially at Bridgeport Covered Bridge. Depending on the time of year the river can be dangerous. Please use caution! Later in the summer is usually safer, but check before entering water.

Many hikes nearby, including the Cascade Canal Trail just a 2m drive (15m walk) from the house, and the Deer Creek Tribute Trail with a stunning suspension bridge.
